Ok, first thing you probably thought, is: "What do you need help with?"
My reply: "I hope you play Mabinogi, because I have an account on there, and some horrible unforseen and untraceable update incompatibility thing made it so I can't play on my computer anymore."
Now, you have 2 possible thoughts now:
#1: "My god. this guy's a geek."
Or, #2: "I play Mabinogi too!"
If it's #1, you're right. but that's besides the point.
If it's #2, you may know why I want to get back so badly. I have friends there that I confided in, and a guild, and (not that I really care about it) around $200 spent on it already. I have a LOT to lose by not going back.
(note to those who thought #1: you might want to stop reading this, unless you're REALLY interested, or VERY bored)
To those who want to help me out, here's the root of the dilemma: the mid-january update that introduced hedgehogs. or a slightly earlier server maintenance. either way, one of those caused a compatibility issue with GameGuard, which (for those who don't know) is neccesary for the startup of ALL Nexon games, that causes it to say "GameGuard failed to initialize. Please reinstall the startup files", or something along those lines. As it turns out, it's a pretty common preoblem for newcomers to Maplestory, and is also one of the leading causes of loss of interest in Maplestory.
Now then, now that you know the situation, those of you who are still able to successfully play Mabinogi on your computers, what you can do to help is tell me your hardware specifications. and what virus protection/parental control softwares you use. I think it's a problem involving either the virus/parental control softwares, my wireless modem (VERY unlikely, but...), or my Charter Communications Internet Provider (Again, UNLIKELY). or maybe god just hates me. I don't know.




AH! now for the semi-almost-nearly-good stuff. those of you interested in "The Horrible Happenings Of The Stupid Scanner" will not be disappointed. Apparently, the Scanner Gods TRULY hate me. I got a new scanner, and first thing that happens: it fries. I am now eager to pull out the USB port of my computer, and smash it over a rock.

Ice storms in massachusetts, Louisiana getting SNOW, same for houston.... WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING!?

I live in the area hit worst by the aforementioned ice storms, by the way.

5 days, no power. Finally get power. Talk like cave-dude. oog.

now that that's over with, I have no scanner now. it fried. not that I used it much lately, but still....


oh, I just remembered. I'm working on a sequence. a TF sequence. I'm doing it because I can. stop complaining.

have you seen my toaster? it's the world's ONLY <LED ZEPPLIN> toaster. I got it from my uncle. He was a roadie with them once upon a time, there was a guy who was my uncle who was a roadie with Led Zepplin.

Anyway, recently I descovered [link]

It has a HUGE collection of translated Manga. I found it when searching for a complete translation of every page of InuYasha, and, lo and behold, they have it. but that's not the reason I brought them up. The reason is, I've gotten hooked on the works of Kano Yasuhiro. anybody heard of him? Doubt it. but He's got great talent. I read "Pretty Face", and, although unusual, was a great read. too bad every series he creates ends up getting cancelled by the publishers before they can really develop... and "Mx0" seemed really promising...

anyway, for those who can handle strange situations, YOU MUST READ "Pretty Face". CTHULU DEMANDS IT!!!

For those who don't believe in Cthulu or do not have very open minds, but still are interested, I suggest "Mx0".

Both are very well written, and both are sure to please you, and the ends will leave you wanting more. Stupid publishers don't know the start of a great series even if it bit them in the ass...
